Travel aboard a comfortable, well-appointed modern train, fully reserved for tourists Only.
The entire spectrum of services is provided on board your Hotel-On-the-Wheels:
all meals, entertainment, guides. Attentive attendants (two per car) will take care of all your needs 24 hours a day, serving tea and coffee, making up beds nightly.

Unlike a regular train, this train stops only in cities included in the program. During day time you will be busy sightseeing and, while you sleep in your cozy private compartment, the train will take you to the next destination city.

The train is comprised of just a max of 15 cars, including six Standard category sleeping cars, two First class carriages, two well-appointed Restaurants, a separate car equipped with a bar.
A maximum capacity is up to 150 passengers

Standard Economy sleeping cars are equipped with 2 lower and 2 upper beds.

Toilets and wash basins are at both ends of the cars for the common use. Train cars are air conditioned (central control). Air conditioning operates only during the time the train is moving. Voltage and sockets on the train are of 220V. Each car offers 9 compartments. The compartments in Standard Economy be booked for 4 passengers travelling together, share basis.
 

Shower facilities are available in Moscow, Irkutsk, Ulaanbaatar and Beijing in your hotel rooms where you stay overnight.

In addition, hotel Day rooms for showers are available during stops in Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Erlian. With exception of the day in Ulan Ude you have guaranteed access to showers once every day of the tour.

     Standard Plus cabins are equipped with 2 lower beds and 2 upper beds. While only the two lower beds are used for sleeping, the two upper beds can be used as additional storage for luggage – or they simply can be folded away.

Toilets and wash basins for common use are at both ends of each Standard Plus sleeping car. The sleeping cars are air conditioned (central control). Air conditioning operates only during the time the train is moving. Sockets for 220 V are available. There are 9 compartments in each car. They can be booked for double or single use.

Day-By-Day Program:


Day 1   Welcome to Russia's Capital, Moscow
  Arrive in Moscow. You will meet your tour guide at Moscow Int'l airport to receive your transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner. Overnight
Day 2 Moscow: 9 am - 5 pm
  A full day sightseeing tour features the magnificent views of this dynamic capital city including the historic Red Square with its iconic St. Basil's Cathedral, the Kremlin with its red-brick walls, Mausoleum, the beautifully restored Bolshoi theatre, Moscow State University, city's fine squares and streets of regal scale. You will have a separate tour of Czar's Treasure collection in the Armory of the Kremlin.
In the evening transfer to the rail station to board a Private Trans-Siberian Express train for the first leg of your 6,000 mile-long journey to Beijing. Train departs at 7 pm
Day 3 Yekaterinburg:            Arrive at 8 pm
  A full day for relaxing and watching ever changing scenery as your train speeds towards the Ural mountains and its key city, Yekaterinburg, on the border between Europe and Asia. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your Hotel **** in city center for an overnight  
Day 4 Yekaterinburg:            9 am - 12 noon
 

Yekaterinburg was founded by Czar Peter the Great in 1723. It is known as the center of the Ural Mountains and the natural divide between Europe and Asia. The city is a flourishing hub, rich in natural resources and precious stones. It was here that the last Czar was murdered and the famous Gary Powers U-2 spy plane was shot down during the Cold War. 

You will have a City tour of Yekaterinburg and will also visit Ganina Yama, the execution site of Nicholas II and his family, the last of Romanov dynasty and the last czar of Russia. After sightseeing return to your Hotel-on-the-Wheels and continue your rail adventure now across Russia’s Siberia
Day 5

Novosibirsk:             Arrive 5 pm

  Most of the day is spent aboard your train relaxing, attending lectures or communicating with your travel companions. Today you are passing through the plains of Western Siberia and you will reach Novosibirsk.
Founded in 1893, it is the foremost city of western Siberia situated where the Trans-Siberian crosses the mighty Ob River. The city is over 1.5 million. Novosibirsk sprang up at the start of the 20th century and is a fascinating place to discover the history and ethnic diversity of Siberia. Novosibirsk is also important as a major rail crossing point connecting Siberia with Central Asia and the Caspian Sea
Day 6

Novosibirsk:               Depart 8 pm

  Enjoy a full day of sightseeing. During a City sightseeing tour you will be shown some remarkable Orthodox churches that survived the Soviet period. You will have a visit inside the famous Opera House, the largest in Russia. You might also see the incredible fruit market which is something you don’t expect in Siberia.
In the afternoon an excursion takes you outside the city into the taiga, the real Siberian forest.
You will also visit recently opened Railway museum – the largest in Russia - showcasing locomotives, train carriages and passenger cars through the entire history of 100-year old Trans Siberian Railway. Return to your train and travel deeper into Siberia
Day 7 Krasnoyarsk:           9 am - 2 pm
  Krasnoyarsk is the 3rd largest city in Siberia. It lies on the mighty Yenisej river and is an important junction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Your panoramic city tour features the most interesting spots in Krasnoyarsk - the Intercession Cathedral, the Chapel on the Guard’s Mountain, and the Trans-Siberian Railroad bridge over the Yenisei River. 
Krasnoyarsk Hydro electric Power Plant is also one of the landmarks, still being among the biggest hydroelectric power plants in the world.
Enjoy a boat cruise along the Yeinisei river for a breathtaking view of the city and a huge railway bridge crossing the river   
Day 8 Irkutsk:                  Arrive 9 am
  Irkutsk, the capital of Eastern Siberia, is a landmark stopover en-route to reach Lake Baikal, one of Russia’s greatest wonders. 
The city is also known for its long-time trade ties with Mongolia and China.
Today you will visit the old quarters of the city where charming wooden hand-crafted houses are located. Later you will be invited for a private Concert of classical music in the wooden House of Decembrist Volkonsky. Overnight at Hotel in Irkutsk
Day 9 Lake Baikal & Circum Baikal Rail road:              Depart 6 pm            
 

Today you will be transferred by coach from Irkutsk, along the Angara River, to the shores of the legendary Lake Baikal, undoubtedly the Highlight of the trip!

Lake Baikal is the largest, deepest and cleanest freshwater reservoir in the world! 
It stretches up to 26 miles from east to west and more than 370 miles from north to south. The max depth of the lake is 1,620 meters.
The entire morning the train is running at a low speed along the scenic Circum Baikal Railway line (approx. 100 km) between Sludyanka and Port Baikal, which for many years has seen only a few local trains. 
A special photo stop is arranged in a small village where you can get off the train and put your feet into the crystal-clear waters of the legendary Lake. 
Enjoy a Siberian picnic right on the shoreline of Lake Baikal!
After lunch you will leave the train at Port Baikal where a boat takes you on a short cruise along Lake Baikal to a small settlement of Listvyanka.

A walk through the village takes you to St Nicholas church, a typical orthodox wooden church carefully renovated during post Soviet years. 
This is also an opportunity to see the real life of real people, perhaps visit their homes or simply shop for souvenirs at a marketplace.    
With great impressions of Siberian hospitality and great photos of Lake Baikal this unforgettable day comes to an end. Return to Port Baikal to board the train
Day 10 Ulan Ude:            Arr 9 am – Dep 2 pm 
  In the morning the Trans-Siberian Orient Express arrives in Ulan Ude. During the Soviet times, this city was off-limits for foreigners. 
Ulan Ude is the capital of the Buryat Autonomous Republic of Russia and is an amazing mix of cultures and a place where East meets West. 
Like Irkutsk, the city still has large areas with typical Siberian wooden houses. 
City tour will also take you to a local Datsan, the centre of Buddhism in Russia. Dalai Lama has visited the city three times since 1991. 
When leaving Ulan Ude, Trans-Siberian Orient Express switches from the Trans-Siberian to the Trans-Mongolian mainline heading towards Mongolia’s capital of Ulaanbaatar. Your train reaches the Russian border point of Naushki and the Mongolian border station of Sukhe Baatar. Formalities are easily dispatched in your compartments
Day 11 Ulaanbaatar: Sightseeing:           Arrive 7 am 
 

A full day of sightseeing in Ulaanbaatar. During a city tour you will visit the famous Gandan Monastery, the central Sukhabaatar Square, the Bogd Khan Museum, formerly the Winter palace of the Khans, as well as the Zaisan monument that can be seen from far beyond the city limits. 
In the evening enjoy a typical Mongolian music & dance Show. Accommodation at Hotel ****

Day 12 Terelj National Park:
 

Today travel by coach to the stunning Terelj National Park to witness nomadic lifestyle and participate in local activities. 
Enjoy the breathtaking scenery the Terelj National park is famous for. Enjoy the unspoiled nature, visit the Turtle rock formation or take part in assembling a ger, a typical Mongolian tent dwelling. You will also be invited to watch a spectacular mini Naadam Show. Local contestants will demonstrate their skills in three disciplines that Nomadic people have always been No 1: archery, wrestling and horse racing. In the evening enjoy a typical Mongolian music & dance Show.

Day 13 Ulaanbaatar – Chinese border crossing:            Dep 7.15 am 
 

 In the morning our private train leaves the hospitable capital of Mongolia for a 30-hour leg to Beijing. In the afternoon the train reaches the plains of Gobi Desert. In this part of Mongolia the Gobi is a stone Desert (not a sand Desert). Tonight the train arrives at the Mongolian-Chinese border point. A quick passport & customs check is easily dispatched in your compartment. Also the bogies of the train are changed here from Russian 1520 mm to Chinese 1435 mm bogies.

After all formalities and changes are completed, you travel in a car as part of a regular scheduled train to Beijing. (no need to change trains in the Chinese town of Erlian). The train takes you through the vast expanse of the Gobi desert. Accommodation on board the Chinese train
Day 14 Beijing, China:          Arrive 2 pm 
  Welcome to centuries-old Capital of China.
A full day sightseeing tour will introduce you to its most noteworthy highlights including the Imperial Palace (“Forbidden City”), the huge Tian An Men Square with the Parliament building on its west side and the Temple of Heaven. Accommodation at a 4-star hotel in Beijing
Day 15 Beijing, sightseeing: 
 

Today you travel to explore the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. Farewell dinner will be held in one of the famous Beijing Duck restaurants. Overnight at hotel
