Day-By-Day Program:
Day 1 Sunday Arrive in Vilnius
Arrive in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Once the largest medieval state in Europe, it is now a small country with rich history. The many palaces, manor houses, monuments and churches remind you of the once powerful state. Transfer to the Radisson Blu Lietuva Hotel **** or similar, check-in. Welcome meeting
Day 2 Monday Vilnius - Klaipeda
In the morning, get a closer look at the outstanding silhouette of Vilnius with our sightseeing program. Vilnius today is a delightful medieval city of magnificent churches, art and nightclubs. Sightseeing of Vilnius includes a panoramic city tour and a walking tour of the Old Town - the largest in Europe – with Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter-and-Paul Church, St. Anne’s Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn.
After sightseeing travel via Trakai on to Klaipeda, the third largest Lithuanian city sea port on the Baltic sea coast, closest to famous resorts of Nida and Palanga.
Upon arrival, check-in at the National Hotel **** for a 2 nights' stay
Day 3 Tuesday In Klaipeda
A full day for independent activities or join an 8-hour optional tour to the UNESCO listed Curonian Spit, a narrow stretch of land with dunes locked in between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon, with small fishing villages and pine forest.
This optional tour also includes a visit to the charming town of Nida. This is where travelers visit the Summer house of Thomas Mann, the famous German writer, philosopher and Nobel Prize winner. He and his family spent here three consecutive summers (1930-1932) in Nida as they built a summer house in this scenic fisherman's village in the surroundings of 'unspeakable beauty and uniqueness'
Day 4 Wednesday Klaipeda -to- Riga
Klaipeda became part of Lithuania in 1923. A short sightseeing tour of Klaipeda, Lithuania's only major port of call and the former Prussian Capital originally called Memel.
The City orientation tour takes you to the Old Town with its narrow cobblestone streets, old guild houses, Theatre Square and Aennchen von Tharau Fountain.
A walking tour around Lake Plateliai at the Samongitia National Park and then travel on to Siauliai and to the Hill of Crosses, one of the holiest sites in Catholic Lithuania.
Late afternoon arrive in Riga, check-in at the Wellton Riverside Hotel **** for a 2 nights' stay
Day 5 Thursday In Riga
A walking tour of the Old Town - a wealth of historical buildings - includes Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and the Freedom Monument.
In the afternoon an optional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches.
Tonight you may choose to attend the Organ Concert at downtown Dome Cathedral
Day 6 Friday Riga -to- Tallinn
Today drive along the coastal highway to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu where we stop for a tour. Continue on to Tallinn where we arrive early afternoon, check-in at the Radisson Blu Olympia Hotel **** , or similar, for a 2 nights' stay
Day 7 Saturday In Tallinn
Tallinn is a remarkable destination city with stunning venues - from candlelit restaurants in medieval surroundings to clean beaches, lively promenades and buzzing nightlife.
An unmistakable landmark of Tallinn is the Old Town. It is UNESCO-listed and is the best preserved medieval town center in that part of Europe.
The sightseeing tour takes you around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle, the Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the medieval Old Town Hall.
In the afternoon an optional excursion is offered to Kadriorg Park with a visit to the Kadriorg Palace and its art collection. The Kadriorg Palace was designed by the Italian-born genius architect Carlo B. Rastrelli who moved to Russia and whose son later designed the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg
Day 8 Sunday Depart Tallinn
After breakfast your tour ends. Transfer to airport on your own
