Trogir is a colorful medieval island town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, that boasts 2,300 years of urban tradition. Over the last two millennia, its architectural style was influenced by Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Venetians, the Hapsburg Empire, the French, the Yugoslavs and finally today, the modern-day Croatians.
Trogir is distinguished for its historic charm, architectural mix, city’s vibrant atmosphere and coastal beauty.
Walk through the stunning Old Town, its beautiful seafront promenade, Italian-style squares and Venetian palaces. Do not miss Trogir’s grandest building - the Trogir Cathedral (Church of St. Lawrence), whose main portal carved in the 13th century by a local artist, Radovan, is world famous. This evening enjoy a Welcome reception followed by dinner
Day 2 TROGIR – SPLIT – MILNA Sunday (B,L,T)
In the morning we head towards Split for a guided tour of this second-largest city, walk along Riva Promenade, the waterfront harbor area and explore a 4-th century Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage site. The palace now is a living part of Split, with its original walls still visible and its layout providing the framework for the modern city’s Old town. You will also see the remains of Split’s Roman heritage, more of Renaissance & Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral.
From Split we cruise towards Milna town on the Island of Brač. En route take a swim break - weather permitting - in one of pristine bays, time to relax.
Lunch on board. Upon arrival in Milna we’ll be transferred to the Olive Oil museum to learn more about island’s traditions, its history, as well as the traditional process of homemade olive oil production and its role in Mediterranean diet. Overnight in the town of Milna.
Note: Due to the limited capacity of the Split harbour transfer by bus may be arranged to & from Split for sightseeing
Day 3 MILNA – VIS ISLAND Monday (B,L)
Today we leave Milna and Brač Island and cruise towards the island of Vis, once a strategic naval Yugoslav base off-limits to the public. Since the independence of Croatia, the island began slowly opening up to the outside world. Some of Europe’s largest and greatest naval battles happened here in the waters of Vis.
Vis Island holds many historic secrets and we will explore island’s history by military Land Rover Defenders. Overnight on board in one of the harbors of Vis island
Day 4 VIS ISLAND – BIŠEVO – HVAR ISLAND Tuesday (B,L)
In the the morning we set sail towards Biševo island to visit the Blue Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon on the islet Biševo just in front of the town of Komiža.
The Cave visit is subject to final confirmation locally, due to weather & other conditions beyond our control; however, you will be advised of this on time. Entrance to Blue Cave is to be paid on the spot.
Afterwards continue to the island of Hvar, - the longest, the most luxurious and the sunniest island in the Adriatic - take a swim break and continue sailing through lunch.
Arrive on Hvar island in the afternoon to explore the town of Hvar on your own. Hvar Town has long been a mecca for Croatia’s rich and fabulous.
See many centuries-old sites in town, such as St Stephen’s Square and its baroque Cathedral, the Arsenal with its historical theatre, the oldest public theatre in Europe of 1612.
Dating back to the years under Venetian-rule (1420-1797), Hvar’s evocative Old Town is made up of a spacious main square - locally called the Piazza - overlooked by a 16th-century cathedral, a pretty fishing harbor, and a hilltop 16th century Fortica Spanjola fortress offering magnificent views over the bay and Pakleni islands. Overnight in Hvar or Stari Grad
Day 5 HVAR ISLAND – KORČULA Wednesday (B,L)
Early morning we set sail for the island of Korčula to visit the historic medieval walled town of Korčula, thought to be the birthplace of the famous 13th-century explorer Marco Polo. Your walking tour of Korčula features its glorious Old Town packed with Venetian-style aristocratic stone buildings, medieval walls and towers surrounding the town, reminiscent of Dubrovnik, though generally less crowded.
Town’s key historic sites include the central Gothic and Renaissance Cathedral of St. Mark, the Town Hall and the massive city fortifications. Interestingly enough, a maze of narrow, fishbone-shaped streets has been carefully preserved in town, as it was originally used to give shade and shelter from the prevailing winds. Your evening is free to explore the town on your own
Day 6 KORČULA – MLJET National Park – SLANO (Oyster Tasting) Thursday (B,L,T, CD)
In the morning head further south to the Island of Mljet, a favorite among many as one of the greenest and most beautiful, to a great extent due to its lush and unspoiled National Park.
Join your Cruise Manager for a stroll to its two famous saltwater lakes in the park, where you can swim from a beach, take a stroll along the scenic paths, rent bicycles or kayaks to do some more exploring, on your own. The larger lake is home to a tiny islet in the middle which houses an ancient 12th-century Benedictine monastery that is fun to visit.
After lunch, we depart for a small peaceful fishermen’s village of Slano, on the mainland.
Slano is a starting point to Ston, a historic town in Dalmatia, located on the Pelješac Peninsula, famous for its medieval defensive walls, ancient salt pans, fresh seafood and world-renowned oysters.
After exploring the town, we leave to a small nearby place to enjoy the authentic local oyster tasting.
Tonight enjoy Captain’s dinner and overnight in Slano
Day 7 SLANO – DUBROVNIK Friday (B,L)
Early in the morning, we cruise to Elaphiti Islands and then sail to Dubrovnik.
Before we moor at port, we will cruise alongside the old city walls. After docking, join a guided tour at
the historical center of Dubrovnik, its medieval Old Town with Baroque architecture, walk through its shiny marble streets including UNESCO listed Stradun, visit the Franciscan Monastery with its world-famous longest running and oldest European Pharmacy, as it has been operating since 1317.
After a city tour, you will be on your own to explore the city, walk the massive 16th century stone walls, the Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral. Or, perhaps, take a 4-minute cable car ride to the top of the Mount Srđ for amazing views over the Old town rooftops and out across the glistening Adriatic Sea.
