First Russian Built Cruiser in 60 Years

The famous Krasnoje Sormovo yard on the Volga River launched the cruise liner built at a Russian shipyard during the past 60 years.

MS Mustai Karim, a brand new Russian sea-and-river vessel for 342 guests, is named after Mustafa Safich Karimov (1919-2005), a prominent Soviet poet and writer from USSR's Bashkir Republic, now being part of the Russian Federation under the name Bashkortostan.

According to United Shipping Corp., the new PV 300 project vessel is designed for long-distance river cruises from Moscow to Astrakhan, Moscow to St. Petersburg through the Ladoga and Onega lakes and Moscow to Rostov-on the-Don along the Volga-Don shipping canal and boasts a sea-river navigation capability

The brand new 5-star Cruiser will spend the 2020-21 season sailing Volga River itineraries planning to  carry nearly 500,000 passengers annually, of which about 100,000 foreign tourists.

Vessel Specifications:

The boat has a total of 169 Staterooms, including 2 Suites, 2 Owner Suites, 2 Junior suites, 159 Deluxe and 4 Standard Twin cabins.

All Staterooms are outside (no interior cabins exist) and with floor-ceiling windows.

Cabin Sizes:

The average Cabin size is 19 square meters (205 sq. feet) which is almost a double size of cabins on all other river boats.

For comparison, the size of a Twin Standard Cabin on other 'regular' Russian river ships is 10 square meters (110 square feet).
