My dear Serguei,

It was a wonderful trip!

Here are two things I would offer as of interest:

1) good to remind people that the Post-impressionists are now housed in a separate building than the rest of the Hermitage and that they would take a morning (well, maybe two hours) to see.

Also, the building is an amazing exhibition space.

2) the room at the Astoria was fine, but the room you upgraded us to after ten minutes was just fantastic, with fantastically tall ceilings and a view of the cathedral.

The church service was a highlight.
We did a lot of walking.

The museum of political history in Leningrad was amazing as we got to see Lenins desk.

The catherine Palace also amazing. Caroline loved every minute.

The two guides were so charming, Violetta was like A grandmother to Caroline.  Wonderful restaurants.

Honestly it was just the best trip.
